BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE (BI) CASE STUDIES

 

Over the years DSCallards has worked with a number of organisations on a variety of different projects.

Our user base covers virtually every business sector and government activity, delivering the functionality and knowledge in technology to support current and future Business Intelligence requirements. Users include many multi-national corporate organisations such as BUPA, KPMG, Shell International, Virgin Atlantic Airways and Waterstones.

Kellogg's
Kellogg Company

DSCallards deployed an end –to-end reporting solution that took data from Lotus Notes and created a set of MI reports. These reports were then shared dynamically with multiple users via a secure web portal.

GeoTechnical Instruments
GeoTechnical Instruments (UK) Ltd

DSCallards provide an ongoing dedicated Business Intelligence resource to GeoTech. To date we have developed a range of stock and logistics reports that identified the exact number of items in stock and how long they had been there. Other projects include a web reporting portal.

Torbay Council
Torbay Council

DSCallards’ BI Services Team developed a reporting solution for Torbay Council's Rates and Benefits System.

The solution transfers data from a complex legacy database, to a dedicated SQL data warehouse optimised for reporting. A complete set of operational and MI reports were then created, which enabled the Council to “go-live” with the project in time for their Year End deadline.  DSCallards continue to provide ongoing support and training to Torbay Council.

Galderma
Galderma (UK) Ltd

Data Analysis and Financial Reporting Project which involved the creation of a range of complex reports created from a legacy accounting system. This project is ongoing with next phases that will incorporate Strategic Reporting and Management Accounts to be made available to users across the organisation.

Zurich
Zurich Financial Services
Working closely with the Business and IT teams within Zurich, DSCallards defined an initial phase for report creation, based on priority. The scoping phase was then followed by the installation and configuration of the Crystal Reports Server system, which was set-up to inherit their existing Active Directory security settings. As each report was created, it was then published directly to the server to be accessed instantaneously by users throughout Europe. DSCallards continue to carry out onsite report writing work for Zurich throughout 2008.
