LEADTOOLS Medical Imaging includes hand-picked and optimized features to meet the specific needs of medical imaging application development, such as full DICOM dataset support, support for 8-16 bit grayscale, and 12 and 16 bit image processing and display with window leveling and LUT processing.

• Cookie cutter tool: Extract individual slices from a radiographic scanned film (useful for identifying each slice inside a scanned MRI or CT series).
• MRI Brain Analysis Tool: Used to calculate the ratio between the corpus callosm (the white matter in the middle of the brain that looks like the letter X) and the brain sphere.

LEADTOOLS Medical Imaging adds 8-16 bit grayscale support, and 48 and 64 bit color functionality to the Raster Imaging Pro features to make the Medical Imaging a complete imaging solution. For example, other features included: TWAIN support to add such things as x-ray film scanning, generalized imaging support from image capture, format conversion, Internet imaging, database support and printing to name a few. Rounding out the set of functionality in the LEADTOOLS Medical Imaging toolkit is a comprehensive set of image processing functions.
