25th January 2010 - DSInsight (www.dsinsight.co.uk) and Hft (www.hft.org.uk) will be demonstrating SPARS, the jointly developed planning and recording software, to the learning disabled community on Thursday 11th February 2010 at Hft’s Head Offices at Emersons Green, Bristol.
Brought about by demand from organisations such as United Response (www.unitedresponse.org.uk), mcch (www.mcch.co.uk) and RCHL (www.rchl.org.uk), Hft and DSInsight will be explaining how SPARS (Support Planning and Recording System) has been fully operational in the field for over three years.
SPARS is a core module of DSInsight and records and manages information such as Person Centred Plans (PCP), goals and assessments. DSInsight is a framework that can support, maintain and manage supported people with learning disabilities using a web-based online solution that focuses on outcomes. The session will also include an explanation of ClearView which provides a window for supported people to view their own goals, steps and achievements stored within the SPARS application.
Listed in Hft’s Annual Review to its shareholders, SPARS was reported as being instrumental in achieving one of Hft’s top three objectives for 2008/2009 in developing further the use of IT to benefit the people that they support. The Review states, “Throughout 2009/9 we successfully rolled out SPARS (Support, Planning, Assessment and Recording System) to all our services around the country. This IT system not only improves the way we store personal information securely, it also helps to monitor how well we perform internally. Another important aspect is that SPARS gives the people we support access to their records and plans such as personal goals and health plans”.
Adrian Handley, Managing Director, DSCallards, stated, “We are leading the market in this area and continue to work with our partners, Hft, to create a framework that helps the learning disability community manage their day-to-day activities”.
